A Babymoon to Remember: Our Brewery Gulch Inn Escape

As a 23-week pregnant mama-to-be, I was craving a serene retreat with my fiancé, Adam. We wanted to soak up the last moments of just the two of us before our little boy’s arrival. Looking for a destination that was both relaxing and accessible, we set our sights on Mendocino. With its promise of fresh air, stunning coastal views, and a slower pace of life, it seemed like the perfect escape.

“Looking for a destination that was both relaxing and accessible, we set our sights on Mendocino. With its promise of fresh air, stunning coastal views, and a slower pace of life, it seemed like the perfect escape.”

With our bags packed and excitement building, we embarked on our journey to Mendocino.

Our adventure began on a Friday. After exploring the charming town of Mendocino, we arrived at Brewery Gulch Inn, anticipation building with every winding road. As we pulled into the driveway, the inn unfolded before us like a hidden gem, nestled amidst towering redwoods and offering breathtaking ocean vistas. Our room, the Raven, was a cozy sanctuary with a private balcony that beckoned us to unwind. After settling in, we were eager to explore the rest of the inn and soak up the stunning coastal views. We spent the rest of the afternoon exploring the property, basking in the sun, and eagerly awaiting our evening adventure.

A standout feature of our stay was the culinary experience curated by Executive Chef Stephen Smith. Sarah, the inn's warm and welcoming General Manager, had suggested we confirm our attendance for the evening's light fete, an amazing amenity as this was a b&b style inn. We were quick to say yes. Chef Smith's creations were a delightful surprise, showcasing the freshest local ingredients in a beautifully presented bento box. It was the perfect prelude to our evening.

The following day, we embarked on a coastal hike through the Mendocino Headlands State Park. The crisp ocean air and scenery were invigorating, and the gentle exercise was just what I needed. Feeling good after our hike, we returned to the inn for some much-needed downtime We met in the lobby for our much anticipated appointment where we recevied the most relaxing massages we've ever experienced. I opted for a prenatal massage with Rebekah, who used a wonderful product called Nemah, a vegan skincare line with a focus on hydration and stretch mark prevention. The cream, enriched with Vanistryl, Murumuru, macadamia oil, and shea butter, left my skin feeling incredibly soft and nourished. Adam had a Swedish massage with Lynne. It was his first professional massage, and he said he really enjoyed it. We highly recommend both therapists for their expertise and calming touch.

Our final morning at Brewery Gulch Inn was pure bliss. We enjoyed our last leisurely breakfast prepared by Chef Stephen, savoring every bite. It was the perfect ending to a truly magical escape.

The Babymoon Package was the perfect addition to our getaway:

  • One-hour prenatal massage for me

  • One-hour Swedish massage for Adam

  • A contemporary book on parenthood

  • A Baby Belly Bar from Honey House

  • Gift certificates to local shops

The Babymoon Package at Brewery Gulch Inn is thoughtfully designed to cater to the needs of expecting parents. From the prenatal massage to the relaxing atmosphere, the inn provides a sanctuary for couples to unwind and cherish this special time. We felt truly cared for throughout our stay. We can't wait to return with our little one and create new memories in this special place!
